DESCRIPTION: Funeral for a godly mother and grandmother based on the life of Naomi.

1) NAOMI HAD A YOUNG WOMAN WHO ''CHOSE'' HER

Ruth 1:16 ''Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.''

Ruth 4:15 ''Your daughter-in-law loves you and has been better to you than seven sons.''

So said the young woman Ruth to Naomi. Why would she do that? Why would Ruth, from the land of Moab, leave her biological mother and father to go and live with this Israelite woman? Because there were things about Naomi that drew and bonded Ruth to Naomi. FAITH, LOVE, KINDNESS, EXAMPLE AND COURAGE

Ruth was Naomi's daughter-in-law. Bonnie not only had a foster daughter, she also had a daughter-in-law.

2) NAOMI LOVED HER GRANDKIDS

When Naomi's first grandson was born the women of Bethlehem said: ''Then Naomi took the child in her arms and cared for him. The women living there said 'Naomi has a son''' (Ruth 4:16).

- It's been said that parents love children more than children will ever love their parents. This is often true. It is doubly true for grandparents and their grandchildren. You grandkids were so loved by Bonnie. Just listening to your stories and looking at the pictures that truth is reinforced. Even when she made you get out and pick apples so early in the morning for her famous applesauce it was a time of bonding and memories. It reminds me of Ruth getting out there and gleaning for grain with which Naomi made the bread that kept them both alive. And you grandkids were a source of love and joy for your grandmother. Well done.

3) NAOMI HAD A LIFE-LONG MARRIAGE
