Welcome:
On behalf of the family, I want to take a moment to welcome you to our service today. We are here today to celebrate the life of _____ _________ _______, known to me for over 25 years as _______. Of course, some of you were privileged to call her mom, grandma, mother-in-law, sister. To most of us, she was _______. She had 87 years on this earth from 1926 - 2014. Imagine all the changes she saw in her lifetime. But as long as I knew her, _______ was the same lady. She was just _______. She had a calm grace and a quiet confidence that astounded me. It was the presence of someone you just knew spent a lot of time with Jesus. There are many family members here today who could testify of her grace, dignity, and godliness. Her impact will be felt for generations to come. Sunday, she spent her first Mother's Day in Heaven. Can you imagine the reunion with _______, _______, _______, _______(relatives)? Can you picture her seeing Jesus for the first time?
Death is not the end; rather it is only the beginning of eternity. The passing of a loved one is often unexpected and always difficult. But my prayer is that the peace of God would be real in your heart and life today. Paul wrote in Philippians that ''the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.'' Jesus Himself said in the Gospel of John, ''Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.'' On behalf of the family, I would like to say a special thank you to you all for being here today. Will you pray with me please?
