WHAT ARE YOU WEARING TO THE WEDDING?

We are looking at another one of the stories Jesus
told. When Jesus was on the earth He told a number of
stories. This one answers the question - What are you
wearing to the wedding? It's very important. You
need to know what to wear to the wedding. We answer
this question in these 14 verses.

This is the time of year for invitations. There are
invitations received for graduation exercises. We are
receiving invitations to attend anniversary
celebrations. It's the season of the year when we are
getting invitations to attend weddings. June seems
to be a favorite month of brides and so in the month
of May you start getting invitations to come to
weddings. It is a time of invitations.

I hold in my hand tonight the greatest invitation that
has ever been written. I hold in my hand an
invitation from God Himself who invites the whole
human race to come to Him and enjoy eternal life in
heaven. It seems that in every imaginable way God has
invited people to come to know Him as their Savior.
The Lord, Jesus when He walked upon the earth,
extended that invitation in many different ways.
Sometimes Jesus would do it by means of an
illustration. One time Jesus said that coming to the
Lord, answering the invitations, was like walking
through a door. Jesus said, "I am the door, by me if
any man enter in, he shall be saved and he shall go in
and go out." So, salvation is an invitation to come
and step through a door.

Again the Lord Jesus illustrated salvation like
taking a drink of water. The woman at the well came
to the Lord Jesus and asked for a drink of water.
Jesus said to her, "If you knew who it was who was
asking from you a drink of water, you could ask of him
and he would give you some water and you would never
get thirsty again." She said, "Sir, give me this
water." Salvation is like taking a drink ...
