1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
When we LAY HOLD ON ETERNAL LIFE, we will FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH. If we have CONFESSED OUR FAITH IN CHRIST, let us be those that are LIVING A LIFE OF FAITH while we are here on earth.
(Written by Paul around AD 67 right before his death in AD 68)
2 Timothy 4:6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
So here we see Paul telling his son in the faith to ''fight the good fight of faith.'' And in his second letter right before his death, he tells Timothy ''I have fought the good fight, I have kept the faith.''
Don't you want this to be your testimony?
Listen, we have all been through some things. We have all suffered loss. We have all endured some contradictions in our lives, when things go in the opposite direction than what we prayed for, or what we believed God was leading us. We have all faced the perplexities of living in a fallen world where bad things happen to good people. We have all lost loved ones and witnessed the unfairness of human tragedy at times. BUT NO MATTER WHAT WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH, OUR GOD IS STILL ON THE THRONE AND HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN, WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW, AND WHERE HE WANTS TO TAKE YOU!
I would dare to guess that many people have suffered shipwreck of their faith when they have gone through hard times. When things don't turn out as we expect, the first person we blame is God, not ourselves. We hear things like, ''God where were you when this happened in my life, or this person died or that tragedy happened to me?'' Or ''God, if you are all powerful, why ...
