Faith on Trial (4 of 8)
Series: A Journey of Faith
Lenny Ports
Romans 3:3-4
We all go through tests in life. We have all experienced seasons of unanswered prayers, perplexing circumstances, and untimely tragedies, that we have felt like God has gone silent on us. We experience loss or a detour in life. We go through tests where we falsely accuse God of not being there, for leaving us or forsaking us. We go through periods of doubt and unbelief where we find it difficult to trust in God, or trust in His word. It is almost as if we are putting God on trial.
But God won't be put on trial.
GOD WILL NEVER BE ON TRIAL. His character is flawless. He has a perfect record. All wins. No losses. Undefeated. He is God. He is the One Who was, Who is, and Who will always be. Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and yes forever. He is the Lord that does not change.
Romans 3:3 True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful? 4 Of course not! Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him, ''You will be proved right in what you say, and you will win your case in court.'' (NLT)
We aren't on trial either
No matter what you may go through in life, before the eyes of God, you are not on trial. If you have put your faith in Christ, you have already been judged. You've been pronounced not guilty. You believe in Jesus and have put your faith in what Christ has done for you on the cross, you will not come into judgment. You are not on trial. Jesus was already put on trial and condemned to death to pay for your sins and mine, to make an eternal home for us in heaven, and to give us the GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE - here and now. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.
