I Am the Good Shepherd (4 of 5)
Series: Nobody Like Him
William Wyne
John 10:11
John 10:
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
We continue our series this morning with the thematic trust that there is no one like Jesus. That is our faith in the Christian church. That is what makes our faith distinctive, different, we are not better because of this, we are different. We believe in what we can not see; we believe that we can be touched by someone that we can not touch; we believe that we are not alone, yet you can not see our companion. We are not better, but we are different. We believe that there is no deity-like Him, no god like him, no savior like Him, and no power like Him. No person who has lived like Him.
Nobody like Him!
In this series, we have looked at those statements He made in the context of the moment that affirms this faith. Those I Am statements are more than New Testament precepts and principles spoken by Christ, they are designed that you and I might believe in Him as such and that we may be the recipient of the reality of these principles truth. These principles are given to us that they perhaps may live in our lives.
Remember that first statement; I am the Bread of life, John 6:32, and for those who may be hungry for something more nutritional than daily bread, Christ can become the bread of your belief (bread that will be our source of strength and our sustainer to stay strong).
In the second statement in John 8:12, He claimed to be the Light of the world (light that gives directions, light that guarantees our destiny). For those who are meandering in a world of light all around them, but darkness inwardly because of a vacuum of issues or the vicissitudes of life, he can light you internally. And in that third statement that he made in John 10:9, he claims to be the door for the sheep (door of our salvation, sustenance, and our surplus), in him as such, we find what we need in Him.
