Theme: ''Jesus is the remedy and our balm of Gilead''
Introduction:
Song ''There is a Balm in Gilead''
Some times I feel discouraged,
And think my work's in vain,
But then the Holy Spirit
Revives my soul again.
There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin-sick soul.
If you cannot sing like angels,
If you can't preach like Paul,
You can tell the love of Jesus,
And say He died for all.
There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin-sick soul.
Don't ever feel discouraged,
'Cause Jesus is your friend,
And if you lack for knowledge,
He'll never fail to lend.
There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole;
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin-sick soul.
I am preaching a sermon series ''Precious Portraits of Jesus in the O.T.'' and the first sermon was ''Jesus is the Lily of our Valleys'' and the second one is ''Jesus is our Balm of Gilead''; lastly I will be preparing a sermon on ''Jesus is our Rose of Sharon''.
In our sermon today we are going to look at how Jesus is depicted as the Balm of Gilead and offers healing and help to those facing sin, sorrow, and suffering. This one little verse in the bible is dripping with spiritual juices to invigorate those of us that might be weary and worn as we travel the journey of life. When we think there is no hope or healing, we can find refreshment from our Balm of Gilead. Let us take a peak into this very mysterious yet mighty little shrubby tree.
