THAT'S GOOD NEWS: HE ROSE AGAIN ON THE THIRD DAY
I Coninthians 15:1-8
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached
unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also
ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless
ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all
that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according
to the Scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the
third day according to the Scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas,
then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred
brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present,
but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then
of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one
born out of due season." Or literally as one who was an abortion.
Let's go to the lord in a word of prayer. Our Heavenly Father,
we thank you now for the priviledge which is ours to study your word.
I pray that the Holy Spirit will enable all in his service to receive
the word of God in power. We pray that Satan will not be allowed to
hinder the preaching of the word of God. That there shall be nothing
allowed to remove the attention of every hearer from the truth of the
resurrection of Jesus. And we thank you and praise you for what you
are going to do in our midst today. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Christianity stands or falls upon the resurrection of Jesus
Christ. If Jesus Christ is indeed is risen we have a gospel we
have a message of good news. But if Jesus Christ did not really
come forth from the dead, then our gospel is not good news but
it is bad news. Paul laid before us the essential ingredients of
the gospel says, Christ died for our sins. If there had been a
period at the end of that it would be bad news. Or if he said
Christ died for our sins and was buried period. It would still be
bad news. Yet, the apostle Pau ...
