GOD LEADS US ALONG
Acts 15:36-16:10

Suppose you were going on an imaginary journey to a land where you had
never been. You would find yourself confronted there by an unknown land, an
unfamiliar language, strange customs and untraveled roads. You could not make
such a journey successfully unless you had a guide who would lead you who had
been there before, who understood the way that you were to take and would
direct you each step as you went along the way. Life is a great deal like
that. Sometimes in songs and sometimes in Scripture we are told that life is
to be compared to a journey. I think Jesus had this in mind when He said to
His disciples, "I am the way." Jesus is the way in life and without Jesus
there is no going. If we do not have Christ to lead us and to guide us then
life becomes something like a maze. Maybe you have seen this advertisement on
television about the maze - a big hedge maze. Those mazes are very popular
over in England, and you can get in those mazes and in just a little while
with a few turns and few moves and wrong direction, you can find yourself
absolutely lost and trapped in the maze. So, if you get lost in the maze they
have a guide who will come in. He knows the way, all of the correct turns, and
he will lead you out of the maze and get you where you need to be. Life is
a great deal like that. People who do not know the Lord as their Savior, find
themselves in a strange land going they know not where and desperately in need
of a guide. When you come to Jesus, Jesus who is the Way, promises that He
will lead and direct you and He will guide your paths. For the believer, when
you come to Christ, the Holy Spirit of God comes to dwell in your heart.
Christ, in the person of the Holy Spirit, comes to abide in your heart. The
Holy Spirit, we are told in the Bible, becomes the guide, the director for the
children of God. For instance, in Romans 8:14 the Bible says, for as many as
are led by th ...
