There are some places in the Bible, which tell us what to expect in the days just before Jesus Christ returns again. This is one of those places. When you read these verses of Scripture, it's just like you picked up the morning newspaper and were reading from it. Or, it's just like you had turned on your television and were watching the evening news. The things you read about in these verses of Scripture are so very current and so very up to date it's as if Paul sat down last evening and wrote a description of the day in which you and I are living right now. These are the Bible description of the kinds of qualities of life that will be found in the days prior to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Of course, there is a sense in which what you find here has been true morally and socially and spiritually in every age of time since the Lord Jesus came to this world. But in these verses of Scripture there is an indication to us that these kinds of characteristics are going to snowball in the last days just before Jesus Christ is going to come again. So, what I want to do today is just through these verses with you, walk through these statements of Scripture for a little while and let you see what God says in the Bible about the last days.

First of all, in verse one I want us to notice together how the last days are predicted. There is a prediction about the last days.

We notice that these last days are going to be definite days. ''In the last days.'' Look back at I Timothy 4. In verse one, Paul makes this statement, ''Now the spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times.'' You will notice there that he uses the terminology, ''the latter times.'' In II Timothy 3:1, where we are studying, he talks about the last days. There is a sense in which the last days are all of those days since the coming of Jesus into the world and His return to the world again.
