In a survey parents were asked to record how many negative&md;as opposed to positive&md;comments they made to their children. Results: they criticized 10 times for every favorable comment.
Another survey revealed teachers were 75% negative.
It takes four positive statements from a teacher to offset the effects of one negative statement to a child.
