By whom was David taught &ls;Twas Israel's God and king Who order'd Gideon forth, Oh! I have seen the day, But unbelief, self-will,To aim the deadly blow,
When he Goliath fought,

Nor sword nor spear the stripling took,

Who sent him to the fight;

Ye feeble saints, your strength endures,

To storm the invaders' camp,

The trumpets made his coming known,
