Ed Rowell currently serves as senior pastor of Tri-Lakes Chapel in Monument, Colorado. He’s also served churches in Arizona, Kansas and Tennessee. In addition to local church ministry, Ed spent several years on the staff of Leadership Journal, published by Christianity Today, Int. His passion for effective communication led to him being named editor of Preaching Today, a monthly audio resource featuring America’s best sermons and workshops for preachers.

Ed’s view of the American church is broad in scope and allows him to see trends, strategies and solutions as they develop. He is a frequent conference speaker and teacher, known for his humor, clear exposition, and practical application.

His writing has been featured in dozens of secular and Christian magazines and newspapers, including Western Horseman, American Cowboy, New Man, Today's Christian Woman and Christian Reader. His own books include Preaching With Spiritual Passion, (Bethany House, 1998); Go the Distance: 21 Habits and Attitudes for Winning at Life (Broadman & Holman, 2002); and Emma’s Journal: A Novella (Waterbrook, October 2003).

Ed has also edited three books of preaching resources for Leadership Journal with Baker Book House, and contributed to the multimedia resource, Communicating to Change Lives with Bill Hybels and John Maxwell. He has also edited many of Christian A. Schwarz’s books with ChurchSmart, and is a consulting editor and writer for John Maxwell and INJOY Inc.

Growing up in the remote mountains of western New Mexico, Ed’s unique background includes work on ranches and guiding big game hunters in the Gila Wilderness. Following a tour of duty in the Air Force, Ed completed his B.A. in Communications from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO., and the MDiv. from Midwestern Baptist Seminary in Kansas City.

An outdoorsman, Ed enjoys fly-fishing, bow hunting, and hiking and climbing. He’s been married to Susan since August of 1985 and they are the parents of two daughters, Melody and Meagan. They currently reside in Monument, Colorado.
