Perkins
Dr. Darrow Perkins, Jr., has served as the pastor of the Mesa View Baptist Church in Poway, CA since 2002. This predominately African-American church was planted in a Caucasian, Hispanic, and Asian community with the desire to tear down racial and cultural barriers, all in an effort to become ''one church,'' and reflect what heaven looks like- all nations, all peoples. As a retired U. S. Marine Corps officer, Dr. Perkins has been afforded opportunities to travel to many countries around the world and preached the gospel in some of them. He currently serves as an Ambassador to Zimbabwe with GospeLink, Inc. in Lynchburg, VA with the purpose of teaching and training pastors for church and pastoral work and assisting churches in reaching people and spreading the gospel. He also serves as a Trustee for the Midwestern Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO, is the author of four books, including his latest book entitled, ''To Tithe or Not to Tithe? Let's Answer the Question'' which focuses on financial stewardship in the
body of Christ.
Dr. Perkins has earned his Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees in Theology from the Andersonville Theological Seminary, and is currently a Doctor of Ministry candidate in pastoral leadership. He and his wife Teresa have been married for 36 years and have three adult children and two grandchildren.
