Dr. Nelson Price has devoted many years to serving the Lord in many capacities. As a 1953 Graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, B.S. in Horticulture, Dr. Price went on to graduate from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary - Special studies in Homiletics, where he served as a Trustee of Seminary 16 years. He continued his education, receiving his D.D. from Mercer University in 1984, and another D.D. from Hannibal-LaGrange College in 1990.
In November 2000, Dr. Price retired from his position of Pastor at Roswell Street Baptist Church, a church he'd led since November 1, 1965. Under his leadership, membership swelled to almost 9,500. He was instrumental in the establishment of one of the largest worship church plants sites within the SBC and building the second largest worship center in the southeastern part of the United States, seating 4,000 people.
Dr. Price also led in the creation of Love Life, Inc., a ministry of Roswell Street Baptist Church, which operates a Womens Pregnancy Center, offering alternatives to abortion, and establishing The Clay Home, a home for unwed mothers at RSBC.
In addition to writing many books, including: "How to Find Out Who You Are" and "The Occult is Lion Country," Dr. Price has been a motivational speaker for private and corporate groups. He had the honor of delivering the Inaugural Message before President Jimmy Carter, his Cabinet and Staff in 1977.
