Ferguson
The late Dr. Rick Ferguson was the Senior Pastor of Riverside Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado. Riverside is one of the largest and most visible churches in metropolitan Denver and the largest Southern Baptist Church in the state of Colorado.
Dr. Ferguson was also the founder, president, and featured speaker of Hope For Today Ministries. The purpose of Dr. Ferguson’s ministry was to communicate the hope we have in Jesus Christ and to connect people to a local body of believers.
Dr. Ferguson was the author of the book, The Servant Principle, published by Broadman-Holman Publishers in 1999. He served as the First Vice President of the 1999 Southern Baptist Convention and has served in five Southern Baptist churches since 1974. He has also held positions on numerous denominational, scholarly boards, and committees.
Dr. Ferguson was married to the former Katherine Schell since 1976 and the couple had three children; Brett, Katie, and Justin. Dr. Ferguson graduated with a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary of Jacksonville, Florida.
Rick Ferguson was called home to be with God on July 25, 2002.
